Cross-Platform Student Housing Marketplace (iOS, Android & Admin)

A cross-platform product currently in active development (beta), built as a single React Native codebase for iOS and Android, backed by a dedicated API server and a Next.js admin console. Students discover and book accommodation near campus; agents and landlords list properties and manage tenants, all inside one trust-and-safety-first platform.

The Operational Bottleneck

Students searching for housing face fake listings, agents who demand payment outside any platform, and no recourse when things go wrong. Agents, meanwhile, have no reliable channel to reach verified tenants. The platform needed to make the safe path the easiest path for both sides.

The Engineered System

We designed role-based onboarding (student vs. agent/landlord), a searchable listings feed with category filters, ratings and amenity tags, and map-based discovery. Real-time chat runs over WebSockets, and a notification strategy covers in-app and email alerts for every booking and money event. Payments are designed to flow through an escrow-style booking process with an in-app wallet, while a strike and dispute system, agent tiers, and identity checks via the device camera keep bad actors out.
